Am I the only one a little bothered by Dumbledore? Not only with the fact he could end up in the Guinness Book Of World Records for "Most Incompetent Headmaster of All Time" (though I'm sure there's worse. :P), but also because...he just bugs me. I know JKR was trying to write him as the "flawed Yoda", so to speak (and to be fair, he's nowhere near Yoda. XD), but it's also how...preachy he gets. Towards Fudge, for example. You know, in Goblet of Fire, with, "You place too much importance on purity of blood, yadda yadda et cetera et cetera" -- which considering how he treated Tom Riddle and the Slytherins is...slightly hypocritical isn't it? Probably bad writing on JKR's part, though. :/

Anyways, sorry 'bout the rambling. Thoughts?

I'm also entertained by the diagram of the similarities between Harry and Anakin. If JKR had started with a series about Harry's kids and then gone back to write these seven, I'd bet on him going to the dark side at the end :D

Dumbledore would *so* be Palpatine. :3 Voldemort would be Grievous. Snape would probably be Dooku (he has the snark and the awesomeness. :3). Ron would be Obi-Wan, and Ginny would be Padme. Lily would be Shmi. Vernon Dursley would be Watto. Hagrid would be Qui-Gon (I know, you're crushed. :P).

Qui-Gon does seem to have a penchant for picking up interesting creatures... in just one movie, he ends up with Jar Jar, Artoo, a disguised queen, and Anakin.

Palpatine promised he could stop people from dying, and Dumbledore says he's made Harry the master of death... hm!

Aaand just when Harry and Ginny's relationship couldn't get more messed-up...yeah. I think somewhere in the afterlife, Anakin's probably asking Obi-Wan to pass the juma. :P

I was kind of thinking more of Dumbledore boosting Harry's ego and manipulating him for his own ends, but I didn't really consider the "Master of Death" thing. Good call. :)
