Jun. 22nd, 2011 08:28 pmPottermore, if the yahoo info below is true apparently it's a online game...why am I not surprised - IF it is a game, who wants to take a wild guess they want us to pay to play it.

Date: 2011-06-24 10:28 am (UTC)The thing is, what is this 18,000 going to be really? Is it something thats going to actually explain things we have questions about OR is it more like, Ginny's wand is made of XYZ, This characters birthday is XYZ.
Okay so all of that can be valid info if you are curious but thats kind of 'fluff' info isn't it? It doesn't technically answer motiveations for a character to know their birthday.
Unless she's going to be giving us a extended essay on certain subjects...if it's just little bits of fluff info then I don't know if that kind of info can be consider something to brag about. She could have just as easily done that by having another interview every couple years or just posted it on her existing website.
Another part of me thinks they are trying to keep up with the changing times. Sticking the stories into the digital media world and in the online world is basicly moving it into the future. I know that she is saying that it's all free, but if I remember rightly she says everything you've seen is going to be free. I'm fairly sure the ebook downloads are not free and I'm a little suspitious about the everything you've seen. I have to ask, did we see everything?
Then I wonder Maybe she's realized that giving canon info or canon alterations in an interview IS a bad thing. Maybe she's trying to give an info dump in another way.
