Magical Magic Creature Spotlight: Glumbumble

Glumbumble

MOM Classification: XXX

This is simply a gray honeybee-like insect, that produces a melancholy-inducing treacle. Oddly enough, the only thing it’s described as doing is providing an antidote to eating a certain type of plant. I have to wonder what other uses it has. But if one of these guys infests a beehive, it’ll ruin the honey. Usually, these insects live in dark places like trees or caves, and they eat nettles.

So, it's like a Dementor Lite via food? That's kind of interesting, actually. The transmission vector I mean. Magic creatures shouldn't just be able to affect humans directly - real animals have all sorts of indirect effects. I wonder what magic pet dander can do? What happens if you're allergic to kneazles or krups, for instance?

Also, are there sadness-inducing rocks (some sort of magic volcanic products? heated and shot out by jets of magic lava?) and anger-inducing bananas and such?

There are so many potions that influence the mind one way or another. At least in some of these I imagine the effect is mostly due to a certain key ingredient (rather than entirely due to interaction between ingredients neither of which has such an effect on its own).
