I personally thought it'd be canon, but honestly, I'll happily regard it as non-canon. It seems quickly written ... that's actually my main point.
I did the sorting twice and I got sorted into Hufflepuff once and Ravenclaw once, even though I answered both 100% honestly. It probably depends on what questions you get. I bet that if I'd do the sorting quiz a third or fourth time I'd get Gryffindor too. So I'm even taking the sorting with a pinch of salt.
