The most canonical information we have about Flitwick is that he was a teacher in 1976 - we see him supervising the DADA OWL. Harry doesn't notice him looking exceptionally different, but who knows if that means anything. To the best of my understanding of Harry's perception of wizards' ages, he notices 20-somethings as young and 70-somethings as old. This does allow for 1976!Filius to have been in his 30s and 1997!Filius in his 50s.
