Magical Magic Creature Spotlight: Clabbert

So, today the magical magic creature we’re going to look at is...

Clabbert

MOM Classification: XX

This is the first animal we’ve seen that’s native to the United States- the south, apparently. Although it’s since been exported worldwide, which would fuck up the ecosystem, but whatever, it’s not like those wizards care about something like that (but hold that thought for a later installment). In appearance it’s a cross between a frog and a monkey, but wait, the best thing about it is that it has a special forehead marking that flashes red when it senses danger. As such, American wizards once used them for a time to mark the appearance of Muggles. However this turned out to be a mistake when the Muggles, you know, noticed the flashing little animals! Wow, don’t the Wizards just devise the best means of concealment ever?

Oh, and also? In America!!XD

Are Muggles dangerous to Clabberts? Or did their owners induce a Pavlovian response by punishing them if Muggles got too close? (And how can Clabberts tell the difference between, say, a Muggle and a Muggle-aware witch or wizard who knows how Muggle clothing works?)
