Hey there! Good to see so many members already. I sent a bunch of invites also, but quickly went up to the limit!
Just thought we could do with an extra place to discuss this stuff without interrupting

the_snarkery. (I'm still posting there, btw, just in case you see me or anyone else who's at both and get confused!)
So I'm not any kind of boss here, anyone can post at anytime. But I thought we could do with a first entry, maybe see what everyone feels like doing:

Frankly, I'd love to do any of them but I suspect it would be easiest for me to do HBP as I wouldn't have to bother

damienne for borrowing her copies of older canon. (Mine are either in transit in the case of OotP and maybe GOF or all the way back in Wisconsin in the case of PS (well, SS), COS, and POA.)

So. Um. Whichever you guys like?

I think I'd be into doing HBP, personally.

I chose GOF, mostly due to the "I've started so I'll finish" factor. But I'm cool with reading through HBP as well.

I can see why people would want to discuss HBP, but maybe it would be best to hold on that one until next summer. After all, one of the best parts of the Snarkery's OotP readthrough was that there was already enough distance from the fan uproar over that book.

Yeah, HBP is my favourite book by a long chalk, but even that's rife with snarkworthy gems ('We could have had years!' being a great big honking one ;)

OMG yes! Seriously, that 'breakup' scene made me laugh. The only good thing about the ending was that it meant my SS/HP slash fic wasn't ruined.

I'd like to get cracking on HBP, because I'd love an excuse to reread and also because it's the only HP book I have with me now.

PS because of Draco's Stalinian bullying of his father.

I chose GoF for the "finish what you start" mindset, but I honestly wouldn't mind (although I do like the weekly schedule, instead of a posting whatever you like type system. I lessthan3 organization).

Oh, I'm glad you set this community up :D Now I have somewhere I can post stuff and not feel unwelcome. Also, I can post chapter summaries etc now :)

I checked "PS onwards" because (a)I thought it'd probably cause less drama to do something different from the_snarkery and (b)it'd be nice to do the books in order so we can be sure of any decline - or otherwise - in characterisation or writing. HBP would be my second choice, although I think it might be a bit soon after the release. Possibly best to let the explosions die down first.
