Experiment tiem!!!!

Just a little experiment. It may seem confusing at first, but trust me- it'll make sense in the grand scheme of my parodies.

Which of these sounds more like something Dumbledore would say, and which sounds more like something Voldemort would say?

Item #1: "One day you will awaken to a world of my creation."

Item #2: "He's nothing but a freak without a human heart."

Have fun, y'all:D

Hmmm. I'd say #1 is Dumbledore ... Voldemort is more direct, more now-now-now. He'd be reluctant to accept, certainly to admit to someone, that his plans have to wait, are subject to others. I think?

#2 doesn't sound like either, really ... substitute the word 'freak' for something a bit more polished and less common, less of a slang word, and I guess either could say it.

Sorry, I doubt I've been very helpful!

1. Voldemort.

2. Neither.

'freak' is Petunia's word.

The first sentence will eventually be said by Hermione.

Yes!!!!!

The first sounds like something Dumbledore would think but not necessarily be dumb enough to say out loud. The second was said in some context regarding The Warlock's Hairy Heart in Beedle the Bard. I remember having a discussion about the statement a few months ago. Actually, since the first line almost rhymes, it would make a good opening couplet for an evil overlord song in a musical.

One day you will awaken
To a world of my creation.
One day you'll all bow down
And sing my praises loud.

The whole world will acknowledge
What I've always known inside
That I'm the greatest being
On this planet to reside.

My enemies will be smited,
And my minions all delighted
For they all will be rewarded
As my favors are accorded.

You get the idea. :D

Great. I really need to go to bed, but now that I've started writing that song, I can't stop. It's called, "It's Good to Be Me." Here's more of it.

Chorus:

Oh, they laughed when I called myself Lord Voldemort.
Those Gryffindors all jeered, "It rhymes with 'moldy shorts.'"
But they're not laughing now
'Cause they're rotting in the ground.
Oh! It's good to be me.

Back in that Muggle orphanage
They thought I was a creep
Just 'cause I strung up bunnies
And made younger kiddies weep.

They all should have been honored
That I noticed them at all
Such vermin deserve nothing
To think otherwise is gall.

They didn't matter, anyway.
Who cares what they were thinking?
The mistress was a drunkard.
(I'm the reason she was drinking.)

(Chorus)

That gentleman from Hogwarts
Made my wardrobe catch on fire
I said to myself, "Tommy,
"That's a skill you must acquire."

I studied magic night and day
To learn all that I could
The only spell I didn't learn
Was one to make me good.

Who cares? That didn't matter
'Cause I'm such an expert fake
They even made me Head Boy
Despite the Horcrux that I made.

(Chorus)

The world calls me a psychopath
For knowing what I want
When Gryffindors do Crucio
It's labeled as gallant.

The world's my giant oyster
And you're all just sand and gritty
Necessary to create
The great pearl that is me.

The world is out to get me
But I don't let that upset me
I know that I am right
'Cause I have the greatest might.

And one day soon I'll rule you
Don't let my nice guy facade fool you.
Start groveling while you can.
I am not a patient man.

(Chorus)

Well, that's the rough version of it. I need to write some parts for the minions to sing with it. Many thanks to rhymer.com's rhyming dictionary.

Thank you. I'm happy to have given you a laugh.

Sure, as long as you credit me. (Nothing personal, I've just had my work stolen before.) I'm very flattered by the request. However, I think I'd change one verse slightly to:

The world calls me a psychopath
'Cause of how I use my wand.
But when Gryffindors do Crucio
It's labeled as gallant.

That makes better sense.

1 is Voldemort, 2 is Dumbledore if he were the sort of person to use the word "freak".

Dumbledore and Voldemort are kindred spirits

>> Item #1: "One day you will awaken to a world of my creation." <<

Item #1 could be either of them.

But Item #2 sounds nothing at all like either.

>> Item #2: "He's nothing but a freak without a human heart." <<

Much too coarse. Sounds like the Weasley Twins or Petunia (if any canon character).

"One day you will awaken to a world of my creation."

Dumbledore: pillow talk with Grindelwald.

"He's nothing but a freak without a human heart."

Dumbledore: pillow talk with James Potter.

I don't think either of them would express themselves in those terms, but Number 1 would be the sort of thing Dumbledore thinks to himself when someone really annoys him. It doesn't sound like Voldemort, who always seemed more interested in immortality than changing the world. Number 2 would (bar the word "freak") be Dumbledore, in his commentary to The Warlock's Hairy Heart.

They both sound downright Dumbledorian to me.

I think the first could have been said - or thought - by either of them. The second fits only Dumbledore, IMHO.

1. Voldemort (but I love the idea of Hermione saying it)

2. change freak to Slytherin and it is Dumbledore, Harry, Moody, the Weasley's and all the "good Gryffindors"

I love the evil overlord song !

1. Either Dumbledore or Hermione. Or Light Yagami from Death Note. ;-)
2. The "freak" thing strikes me as being rather a Harry-ish thing to say for some reason.
