Harry Potter and the Case of the Missing Goats

Sometimes it's fun to poke at the wizarding world and see which bits of their economy Harry never suspected. This is an entirely un-serious look at where all that parchment comes from.

Off topic but whatever. I just visited Pottemore and learned that the housecup there's gonna be awarded soon. And "because of that" the normally visible score charts were obscured, so that nobody can tell how many points the houses have. It's obvious they're doing this so that Pottermore could tamper with the scores and make Gryffindor win no matter what. Usually, I'm not paranoid, but there just isn't any other plausible reason why to hide the scores. Especially to do so right now.

I'm saying mostly because this made me realize with shocking clarity how life must feel for Slytherins (and the more intelligent members of other houses). It's just terrible to live in a universe with JK's idea of fairness and justice - now I know from experience. If you aren't a Gryffindor, don't even bother. No matter what you do, say or are, the omnipotent will never let you win. It's so unfair it makes me wanna join the Death Eaters straight away. And I'm not even a teen anymore.

Sorry, I didn't realize you probably don't know what the charts looked like the last time we saw them - Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws had no chance to win the cup (they would need to gain millions of points in a couple of days, which is impossible), Slytherin was in a slight lead, but Gryffindor was very close and could have caught up in a few minutes, hours tops. So baically, it was between Gryffindor and Slytherin, and we know which house of these two wins. After all, if worse comes to worst, Pottermore can always award them a few millions speciall Dumbledore points. :(

I hated how Dumbledore awarded the points at the end of the first book. He publicly humiliated the Slytherins. And he wonders why they are not on his side!

For a wonderful example of cruelty to animals (humanoids) in wizarding world visit Pottermore, Chapter 3 of Chamber of Secrets. :)

I don't think I can yet! I sorted as a Ravenclaw.
