And it’s a Cherry and Unicorn hair, Ollivander’s Eternally Virgin Special!
Poor Neville :( I'm not sure what I think of him, really, because I do feel sorry for him on some level - but Rowling insisting on making him a sort of human Dobby who idolises Harry and yet never gets any dignity...well, I just want him to snap and go postal at some point when he realises Harry thinks of him as a sort of pet.
Romilda Vane appears. In case you’re wondering if we should like her or not, she’s confident but has a prominent chin. No, you should not like her.
Although she's not actually evil, just laughable. So if Harry would rather spend time with Neville-the-puppy than this odious intruder, who clearly likes makeup and clothes and giggling (look at all her female friends!), this is clearly a sign of incredible growth within him.
It’s like a battle of giants with Harry and Luna in a car. Who is more self-absorbed?
I get the impression that Luna is an "eccentric person" from the point of view of someone who couldn't be much more conventional if she made a special effort. There are people around like Luna, but they don't stay so self-consciously "loony" once they get out into the real world and start doing grown-up stuff. Luna will probably drift into something utterly corporate or commit suicide once she realises that the silly earrings and acting dozy were just to mask the fact that she's dead inside :(
Ginny grimaces at Harry from behind Slughorn’s back, which pretty much sums up Ginny.
Ginny's so joyless and humourless. What is up with that? Was I ever this awful? Is this how "normal teenagers" act. Mind you, I can see why some fandom people like her so much, they're just as awful.
More, some days later.
