Yea, I totally don't get her having Harry do the torture curse. I don't quite get why he needed to do that spell. Out of all the spells he has, why did JKR make Harry do that one?
In an interview I remember reading someone asked her, they it disappointed them that he did that and the answer JKR gave used Severus as sort of the excuse. She sort of said that Like Snape, Harry isn't perfect. Don't have the exact quote but thats it in a nutshell.
So, I can't figure out, what does Snape have to do with it? Why would she use 'him' as the excuse? What made her jump to him to use as the excuse for Harry. I mean she could have just as easily left Snape out of it and just said Harry wasn't perfect, etc.
Or is it more because maybe whoever asked the question maybe she suspected or as a whole has come to realize Snape gets a lot of either sympahty or empathy from a lot of fans - and those fans don't usually really put Harry as one of their favorite characters. So I sort of wonder is havig Harry do a torture curse her way of trying to show Harry isn't perfect but an attempt to try and draw in some of those fans.
I really have no clue, I personally think it was a bad move, especially considering through 7 books we're told that Harry is this example of goodness and love, etc. but what we really see in his actions/behavior is sometimes very/totally contradictory.
