No, the idea is that if fans can like Sev despite some Dark spells he cast at one point or another then we should be able to like Harry too. Of course we don't really see Harry regretting that act of torture, or rethinking his actions in any way. Just like he didn't regret cutting Draco up for more than a few seconds.
