Next magical magic creature...
Flobberworm
MOM Classification: X
Okay, I have to wonder something: what is the official criteria for separating X and XX creatures? I know the beginning of the book says that X signifies “boring” (which sounds horribly unprofessional and unscientific, but Wizards are just infantile enough to do it). But come on, it’s not like a tiny crab that eats wands is any more interesting than a gigantic worm.
So, yeah, a Flobberworm, is, well, a gigantic brown worm. It’s vegetarian, preferring lettuce, and secretes a mucus that is used to thicken potions. Flobberworms appear in POA in a Care of Magical Creatures class, but play no real part in the story as a whole.
