I do think Draco is in a lose-lose situation as far as I can see, which is why I think what he'll do next is debatable. I'd find it canonically plausible if he went to Voldemort, Narcissa, Snape or if he went off solo for the reasons I've gone over. Or if he didn't for the reasons you've gone over. It's just since Draco All Alone would be the scariest situation, it's the scenario that preys on my mind.
Narcissa did risk death in order to keep Draco safe before, but she did it in a very clever way, manipulating Snape as she did. Draco may think his mother can handle it, or he might plan to contact her, if he did decide not to go to her.
Hey, I'd find it plausible if Draco went off on a suicide mission to get his father out of Azkaban. I wish someone would write that, too.
