Dudley cannot count, and apparently his having to think is hard work.

So, the kid is very greedy and compares last year's number of presents with this year's haul: 38-36=2. But he's also too stupid to add 37+2=39. Mutually contradictory negative traits are the worst kind!

Harry can’t feel too sorry for Mrs. Figg breaking her leg-serves her right for showing him all her cat pictures, the bitch.

Okay, so, never mind that she's trying to make nice. Harry can't be having with a smelly old weirdo who gives him yucky cake and has an unhealthy obsession with her pets. And he insta-bonds with Hagrid...why?

Harry could never be bored with the animals, not when he’s too busy commenting on the innate stupidity of Dudley by comparing him to a gorilla.

Dudley looks like a gorilla at the zoo, and a pig at home. Are we sure he's not an unregistered Multianimagus? Because one of these things is not like the other.

I'm getting a vibe here that Harry and the narrator don't really like Dudley. In fact I remember being surprised when Harry later decided that Draco's worse, because I thought we'd already established that Dudley is the ultimate evil as 11-year-old kids go.
