Thank you for the link. I think I've read it a while ago.
I can think of a few more things Sirius knows that Dumbledore wouldn't like to be discussed especially among Order members or with Harry.
Sirius is probably the only living person who knows exactly what Dumbledore has told the Potter about the reason why they had to go into hiding. Lily definitely has no idea that Harry is Voldemort's main target and the only halfway acceptable reason for James' stupid behaviour is that he thinks he's the one Voldemort is after. He may hope that Voldemort wouldn't think it's worth the effort to pursue Lily and Harry. They may have been a lot more careful, if they had known about the Prophecy.
The 'spy-in-the-order' affair doesn't show Dumbledore in a very good light. The only people who knew about a spy were the 5 directly involved, Dumbledore himself and his DE spy Snape. Order members were dying by the numbers during that year and Dumbledore for all we know, did nothing except keeping Sirius away from the Potters with 'Order duty' whatever that is. Lily's letter at least hints to it that Dumbledore suspected Sirius months before he acted like a guilty madman. His behaviour as a schoolboy is not reason enough, not for Dumbledore. Severus has good reason to believe Sirius capable of anything, but Dumbledore obviously accepted the Marauders' explanation for the 'prank'. BTW Sirius himself does not say it was a mere joke or that he found it amusing. On the contrary he still seems to think it was justified.
James Potter certainly was at least as bad as his friend; IMHO he was a good deal worse. Dumbledore never seems to be bothered by any of the Marauders' pranks. So what made him immediately suspect Sirius rather than Lupin?
I can imagine two not so nice reasons. The first is 'bad blood', all Blacks sooner or later turn Dark Wizards, don't they? And the second is a pet theory of mine. I think Sirius loved his little brother and never stopped caring for him not matter how much he denied it. Regulus disappeared and his death was taken for granted. Voldemort can probably sense it through his Dark Mark connection. Wizards don't die in car accidents. He hasn't been killed by the Aurors or it had been in the prophet. The Death Eaters knew it wasn't them. They actually don't seem to suspect him to have run away. Don't you think Bellatrix would have used that taunt against Sirius or later Voldemort against Bellatrix? What did they believe had happened to Regulus? He might have tried some dangerous magic and died or the Order has killed him. Those are the only logical conclusions from a Death Eater POV. If Sirius had been told about that after Regulus' death and started to believe it, this had been a good reason to turn against the Order and even to do the unthinkable, turn against James Potter.
No matter what reason Dumbledore had to suspect Sirius and only Sirius, he should have done something about it. People were dying because of the spy!
