They don't need to complain or be openly unfriendly. It's an awkward situation to bring another girl into this 'exclusive' boys club. They are contend with each others company. Lily is accepted as James' girlfriend. It gets worse, if any of her friends was interested in Lupin or Sirius and hoped Lily could 'help'. Lupin would be utterly embarrassed and I don't even want to imagine how Sirius would react to the slightest hint of attempted match-making.
