I'd go one further and say that he seems very unimportant to Harry also. I mean, we get his observation of Lupin's shabbiness since he's our POV character and all, but in general, he doesn't seem to get much consideration (for instance, in HBP he's ticked that Lupin hasn't, I don't know, leapt to fill the hole Sirius has left as Daddy figure and written to him, but um...why doesn't he write to Lupin? Or why haven't they just corresponded before if they're close enough for Harry to expect him to?)
