Can I mention that JKR can't even get her more 'simple' timelines right?
The talk between Remus and Tonks about Sirius' 'looks' comes "after a year" of developing friendship. If she had just said 'almost' a year....sigh. After a year, Sirius is already dead. The best interpretation leaves the talk at very close to a year, which should mean that Tonks powers were lessened just before the fight at the Ministry. Then why wasn't her hair brown? Is that why she was injured in the fight? IF not, then her hair change isn't about unrequited love and is all about Sirius' death after all.
And if her injury at the DoM really IS because of the disagreement with Remus, then Snape was absolutely right about her weak patronus - Her 'love' for Remus really was hurting her and preventing her from being a decent protection for Harry.
Also note that apparently Remus and the Order were involved in out right fighting with DEs in 5th year - while all the DEs were 'laying low' - and they still had a great deal of trouble with them at the DoM. OR during 6th year, when he is supposedly infiltrating the werewolves. Was the Order TRYING to get Remus killed? Please be our spy - but meanwhile make it obvious that you're fighting for us as well!
