It was terri-testing's reply to one of my comments on her story "(No) Difference". I was saying how infuriating it was that Albus takes delight in his Gryffindors' crimes rather than regretting the political necessity of allowing his favorites to run wild, while Snape wants to teach them civilized behavior but isn't allowed to. Terri said that Dumbledore doesn't want citizens but warriors. The difference is less a matter of morality than of self-control and the awareness of other people as human beings like oneself.
