I agree. OTOH, I think Sirius did have a personal relationship with Harry, even before he went to Azkaban. If he spent as much time with the Potters as I imagine he did, I think it'd be a bit hard for him to not think of Harry as his own person (mini one-year-old James?). Azkaban would probably have messed with his head, though, so he'd probably have thought of Harry as mini!James.
It's weird to think about it, because I didn't have the feeling in GoF that Sirius was thinking of Harry as a replacement for James. Harry was his godson, pure and simple. Then, in OotP, it felt like he thought that Harry should be filling James's place. Did Grimmauld really have that big an effect on him?
