It's interesting that you see Lupin as having a lot in common with Snape. I tend to see them as diametrically opposed, because Snape will sacrifice affection to do what he sees as right, while Lupin will do wrong in order to gain affection. But the enclosed thing - yes. I can see that. They are both quite introverted. And there was something about Lupin in HBP, particularly in the infirmary, that disturbed me a lot.
