OMG, that would drive me crazy. Get a clue, party clown! I had a friend who was a clown at parties once. He once traumatized a child, so you sort of got off easy.
I have this crazy social fear of my words being misunderstood that I swear came from this whole incident with the clown. I was never a shy kid but I grew up that way. It's easy to blame clowns for stuff like that.
It's very bizarre. Is it just that she had to go overboard with him to show how House-Elves are like slaves? Because he's the worst advertisement for freedom ever.
I think the house elves fear what happens to you when you become free rather than being free. I can't help but slightly associate it to when one of my friends came out and he turned flamboyant overnight. When people stopped wanting to be seen with him it wasn't because he was gay, it was because that was all he'd ever talk about. Put off other people coming out, sadly.
