Yeah, they almost have to be like dogs for this plan to work. I think that's the whole point. We are meant to dislike them although they've never really DONE anything bad - so they are likened to greedy animals. BTW it reminds me of Dudley in GoF, scavanging food (sweets) from the floor. Come to think of it - there should be more Crabbe-Goyle-Dudley-Fics...
