Clearly Jo missed a septology triumph. If there were a stag (James) and a mysterious doe (Severus) present, THAT would have been a huge payoff in B7
That would have been fantastic foreshadowing. But I think that Rowling only had a loose outline for the whole series despite what she has been spouting off in interviews. I'm not sure she truly decided to make Snape an agent for good at the time POA was written.
Which was why the doe wasn't present even though Snape was allegedly watching all this occur. Right?
