Thanks for reminding me of one of my favorite things about HBP, the way nobody wanted to take Hagrid's class!
Ginny's "lucky you" is definitely better. It comes out of the situation--Harry truly is being insensitive to her, blatantly saying that he forgot what happened to her. With this it's like obviously Hermione isn't being insensitive at all, she's just saying she wishes she could see the animals they're studying. Not that she wishes she'd seen someone die. So Harry trying to get her on that is just really imo grandstanding.
