ITA agree about Sirius before. I remember when we read GoF after this the first time it was like...wait, Sirius is like the most intelligent person in this book! You'd actually think, given his part there, that he'd have spent this book trying to figure Voldemort out or learning Occlumency to teach Harry or something. Granted there was the house to explain why he was going crazy, but it still did seem a bit like Sirius just shifted his character drastically for this book. Starting with Harry talking about him being reckless, which makes you wonder how he waited for years in Azkaban, planned a great escape and then stalked Peter for a year.
