I saw the parallels with Ginny not Snape because Snape never gets the object of his affection but Ginny and Merope (at least for some time) do. On the other hand, like Merope before him (and Pansy P after him), Snape is a Slytherin who doesn't deserve to get the object of his affection... Like I said, it's not stalking when a Gryffindor does it.
