Speaking of treats, people in our church when I was young used to hand out Chick tracts at Hallowe'en. They're comics, right? Kids like comics, right? Kids will come to God if they get Chick tracts in their Hallowe'en candy, right?
Um, yeah. Even those of us raised on Chick tracts don't always stay (out of fear of crawling demons and Divine Lightning Justice) in the church. Just one observation, and I may be wrong since I really haven't looked at Chick tracts lately (and don't want to, I did my hard time with them decades ago) but I think they're getting more knee-jerk than they were when I was a kid. There at least was some tenderness along with the gloating back then. Now, from what I'm hearing, it's all gloating and no tenderness.
