Personally, if neither my wife and I had any friends, I’d have chosen Bill and Fleur, who are married and in a position to take care of a child if something happened to the grandparents, as well as being intelligent, capable and mature.
I couldn't help thinking that myself. Plus, they had a daughter a year later, who could be a sister to Teddy (although that brings up its own problems....) But the point is, they were a perfect choice as Godparents for a child, while Harry is a silly choice.
Molly and Arthur would have been a good choice as well. It's true that they aren't rich, but they have plenty of experience, a good track record, and Molly's the age when she'd just love to have a baby in her arms again.
