Voldemort is the worst dark lord ever. Both Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader take extreme offense that he dares to use the title. Even Fire Lord Ozai, who never was a dark lord, (he chose to proclaim himself Phoenix King) was much better at the whole world domination thing.
