*This is a lot of peoples' favourite chapter. It's one of the better ones, I think, owing to a lack of both teenage angst and crappy "bumbling" characterisation we usually get from the adults. Plus - teh Snapey Snape!

*It is assumed around a portion of the fandom that Spinner's end is Up North (I think it may actually be in Manchester). However, this does not necessarily make Professor Snape a Northerner by birth. People can live in places they weren't born, you know. On the other hand, I rather like regional accents, and think it would be pretty funny if Professor Snape, far from having Alan Rickman's smooth deep masculine vocal tones, actually spoke like Mark Owen or Liam Gallagher.

*The fox, we note, is "scrawny". As [livejournal.com profile] biichan says, at least it didn't have two heads, but it probably wasn't in the rudest health anyway. That's city life for you, Foxy, old chum.

*Still, it was dangerous enough to be mistaken for an Auror. I do note, though, that the AK appears to be a very quick and painless death. Considering some of the ways we Muggles dispatch of foxes (gassing, shooting, getting fifty posh people on horseback to drive a pack of dogs after them), I think Bellatrix could have been so much more cruel to the poor beast.

*Sounds like a scabby-looking part of town. I suppose subtle charms here and there are the only thing stopping random scallies from gutting Professor Snape's house and selling everything in it for some rubbish drugs.

*"The Dark Lord is...I believe...mistaken." Obviously Bellatrix does not wholly worship Lord Voldemort. Curious, that someone suspected previously to have no opinions to contradict her beloved would say such a thing. It doesn't stop her from seeming to love him, but now in a much more human way.

*Even the architecture is making rude gestures at Spinner's End. It is truly a forsaken place :(

*I'd say that, while the tension between Severus and Narcissa could be read as sexual much more easily, there's still hope for the Severus/Bellatrix pairing. It's just more subtle that way - and besides, contempt never got in the way of porn before :)

*Severus Snape appears to take the same attitude towards interior decorating as he does to clothing. Which is to say, if it keeps all the bits covered and does what it's supposed to, anything else (like looking nice) is perfectly optional. Other people have loads of books for display - Severus probably actually uses them for stuff. I wouldn't presume to know what stuff, of course.

*Bellatrix is dark with strong features. Narcissa is very pale with more delicate features. The likelihood that Andromeda is something in-between the two is strong. I daresay she'll show up in book seven, and be a bit like Molly but less fat and with browner hair.

*Wormtail has actually started to look rodenty. People complained about it in the PoA movie and here it is in the books. He's even got a pointed nose. I bet he twitches it too. And a squeaky voice!

*I get the impression that Severus is delighted to have the chance to verbally smack one of the old bullying gang about. Serve him right, the twitchy little shit. I daresay his ideal fantasy would be to have all four of them smacked about for his amusement before being dropped in a faraway ocean in concrete wellies, but circumstances rather prevent this.

*"I am not your servant!" Yes you are, Peter. Now, put that collar back on and fix everyone something alcoholic.

*Blood-red wine. Mmm, symbolic. Later, there will be blood-red blood.

*Lord Voldemort has committed a thousand terrible crimes and Bellatrix has a hundred reason not to trust Snape. Numbers are cool, especially great big ones. But yeah, she certainly seems angry. Between any other two characters, this would clearly be indicative of UST.

*If this is lying that Severus is doing here, it's the subtle and effective sort. Appear to be saying ever so much so that your audience doesn't notice what you're not saying. Slip in enough truth to let the untruths pass by unnoticed. Bellatrix seems to be the sort of person to believe what she first hears, and I don't doubt that Severus would take advantage of that.

*Hahaha, I love his explaination of why he stayed on at Hogwarts. "Let's see...looking like a traitor versus going to Azkaban? Mmm, like I care what you think, Bellatrix." Very Slytherin, looking for the cushy option. I'm surprised Bellatrix ever got sorted into Slytherin in the first place with an attitude like that.

*"He shares everything with me!" I am sure we've got our dirty minds working already ;)

*Curious that Severus takes partial credit for the disposal of Sirius Black when the events of OotP suggest he had nothing to do with it. The information that helped lead to Sirius' death was conveyed to the Malfoys by Kreacher, if I remember rightly. Either there's stuff he did that I've curiously forgotten, or...we have bullshitting!

*Having to believe the best of people sounds like a Mary-Sue weakness, but it could lead to some serious repercussions if you belive the best of people who are actually working against you. Yeah, we don't know that this is what Severus was doing - but if he were, it'd be good to know that the person he was trying to hoodwink is naturally trusting like that. It's like he's helping :)

*It'd have sucked if they were actually talking about two different plans here. That'd be the sort of thing that would happen to me if I was in that situation ("The what plan? I thought we were talking about the poison-the-wells plan! What do you mean, last week?")

*Poor Narcissa, crying about Draco :(

*Aww, hand-kissing :) Obviously he's not that manky if prissy Cissy is willing to put bits of him in her mouth. I know full well the porn already exists on that very premise, you don't have to tell me.

*The bond from Bella's wand is described as "a firey snake". Obviously indicative of the slithering sinister nature of the situation. Snakes = teh ebil.

I thought the Bellatrix/Ginny shipping was to do with the latter's posession by Tom Riddle, but I suppose any avenue works if you ship that way.

I think Bellatrix also suggested the DEs hurt Ginny as the 'littlest' in OotP. Only reason I noticed that was the fanon. But of course hate = lust! (I laugh at that, but I'd be more inclined to ship Bellatrix/Ginny than say, Ginny/Harry.)

obviously too stupid to realise that the "Slytherin" actors are quite mediocre at portraying their characters, unlike that wealth of talent that is Daniel Radcliffe.

LOL. STFU, he can do at least two expressions now! *gasps, applauds in admiration*

got it from Mr. Black, who was probably a sekrit hero or something, under the thumb of his horrible wife, proving that some women shouldn't be allowed to marry and keep their men down.

Well, we know she was ugly (of course, age and being a crazy portrait might have done that) which is always a sign of an evil woman. Perhaps she chased him, too. *crosses self* The horror!

*dies laughing* You're so right. Radcliffe and Watson are cute and I have nothing against them they cannot act. At all. Tom Felton is not just a cutie but a great actor and blows the rest of them away. Actually, so is Rupert Grint. Those two are the only reason I'm going to see GoF.
