Mackled Malaclaw

(implying there's some other kind of malaclaw?)

This creature's name appears to be a play on the prefex “mal-” from the Latin word for bad, but I can't be certain. Anyway, it's a lobster-like creature that dwells on rocky coastlines, but distinguished from a lobster in that it's mainly found on land and is inedible. It mostly eats assorted crustaceans, but the most interesting thing about it is that if it bites someone that someone becomes highly unlucky for up to a week afterward. Well, Rowling's going to have a hard time topping that one for sheer randomness.

I wonder whether a dose of Felix Felicis would counter a malaclaw bite? Maybe that's how the potion got invented in the first place.
