The Porlock is found in Dorset, England and Southern Ireland, and basically lives to protect horses. It resides in the stable or herd that belongs to it, but it will hide if it senses humans. Okay, doesn't that just make it a lousy guardian? How is it supposed to protect the horses if it runs away from any humans who would be likely to come steal the horses?
