Hey there! Good to see so many members already. I sent a bunch of invites also, but quickly went up to the limit!
Just thought we could do with an extra place to discuss this stuff without interrupting the_snarkery. (I'm still posting there, btw, just in case you see me or anyone else who's at both and get confused!)

We can always bitch on Ginny-Sue by comparing her to Classic Ginny, though.

(And I think that's Mike Teavee, best character of the film and, paradoxically, the most out-of-place one)

Yeah, they changed them all from the book/old film, but it was nice to see a little background for the brats. And yeah, Mike Teavee pretty much rocked. 'Back off you little freaks!'
There's like a whole mini-fandom for CATCF, with fic and everything. Which I certainly didn't look at. *coughs* *pulls collar* Nothing to see here!

How can I not root for someone who is able to pull off one of the hardest things in the world; i.e. effortlessly snatching the scene from under the nose of Johnny Depp? That bit where he says something along the lines of "Light can be a wave or a particle, duh!" had me on the floor.

I have this weird feeling he'd be friends with Draco, should they ever met in Cracked Out Crossover Fic Land. (And having said that, I now realise that means that there is now a fic out there with that exact plot)

I love the line about how Wonka could be using it for people, cause that's something that always bugged me in the original film - dude, you could be saving people's lives with that thing!
And 'If you hate gum so much, why do you sell it?' EXACTLY. ;)
