Oct. 12th, 2005 03:16 pmWasn't sure whether to post these at
the_snarkery, here, both or neither; since we've not done any posts not related to the books yet. But I didn't want to leave out anyone who couldn't comment at the other post.
So if no-one wants me to do this ever again, say or something, mkay?
Some picspam, since I'm bored.
New GoF pictures.
Beware the dial-up!
How cute is Gabrielle, especially hero-worshiping big sis? Seriously, she'll break hearts. <3

Fleur beware! There's a new blonde on the bloke, with a foxier hairdo. (Love the way she looks so 40s.)

And here, cheering Harry's downfall (presumably.) Muhahaha! *fangirls Rita*

For the sickoes among you - Teh Radcliffe in the semi-buff! Lech away, I won't judge.Much.
Seriously, this is at least a better angled shot, since the Nipple of Doom was concealed, unlike the last promo. (I swear, between Breasty!Harry and the weirdass posture of the Slytherins and their jaunty childbearing hips, mpreg is not as far away as one would hope.

LOL at Padma's face.

Ron!

More obligatory H/Hr. Love Dan's expression, there. This was linked to as 'Hermione sad, Harry angry' but I honestly couldn't tell until I read the caption.

Hahaha, revenge for the Gryffindor smirking at the ferret scene. Gloat away, my pretties, gloat! Unless of course, this is just before the article about Ron's mum or something.
(Posture's still bizarre, too. Costuming should just sew up their pockets or something, like they do with toddler actors!)

Date: 2005-10-12 03:14 pm (UTC)Ok, sure, they captured the awkwardness of adolesence, I guess, but really... If you're going to a formal dance, wouldn't you make sure your clothing fit?
In other news, Padma looks like a girl I used to live with.

Date: 2005-10-12 03:57 pm (UTC)I like the look of the film so far - lighting etc. all looks pretty - PoA's direction was too pretentious for me, and while I loved the costuming and sets in PS and CoS, Columbus was pretty mediocre; but the advertising is pretty awful so far. All pictures of people with their mouths open or looking in the wrong direction or chronically failing to act *looks at certain cast members sternly*
I miss CoS, there were like 90 zillion promos for that, and they all looked like they'd been done by professional photographers, rather than the extra's mum...

Date: 2005-10-12 03:57 pm (UTC)I think the Slytherin scene is right before Draco is turned into a ferret, of course.
I had heard they *did* sew up the kids' pockets early on, actually, because they kept stuffing them with candy from the break room and they wouldn't hang right. I'd love to see an outtake where Malfoy yanks out his wand and a dozen skittles come pouring out with it, or it's covered in chocolate.
I do love Padma, though. She's wondering why she's dressed in perfectly normal Muggle clothes and Harry does indeed look like Dracula in a dress.

Date: 2005-10-12 04:11 pm (UTC)Perhaps someone will just tell him he smells. Loudly. And publicly. Like New!Ginny, who will naturally have the best robes money can buy. Then Harry can spray on Lynx that makes the girls follow him around drooling (ot, but god, I hate men's deodorant commercials so so much) and catfighting each other (you're a woman, you know what it's like!) while Ron weeps in the corner or something. Maybe with Draco, too.
Ah, Kloves, why don't you take me on as your assistant, I could do this all day...
Herimone's bag in that one picture (on tara's lj) is so aggressively Muggle it hurts. Not that she can't have a Muggle bag given that she's Hermione
That's exactly why she shouldn't! She'd probably be more likely to go around pointing out 'obvious' Muggleborns in her Madam Malkins robes or something. While sitting with her new pureblood family.
I think the Slytherin scene is right before Draco is turned into a ferret, of course.
Oh, well. Perhaps I'll go the bathroom then and preserve Momentarily!Triumphant Slytherins in my head. (I totally did leave during POA at the Buckbeak execution, in the hope that I'd come back and he'd be squished.
Heh, my cousin used to do the same thing with Titanic, I swear! She saw it about six times, and after the first, she'd just leave when the iceberg hit. Big softie.)

'I spent X galleons on my new Sari/robes and you two couldn't even brush your hair? Fuck this shit, I'll be at the Beauxbatons table. Toodles!'

That Secondhand Shop Smell
Date: 2005-10-13 06:33 pm (UTC)It's more the robe than him, yeah? As a devotee of thrift store shopping, I know how some secondhand clothes need a serious bit of washing & airing out before wearing them out in public.
(Of course Molly didn't think of that before giving it to him, did she?)

Date: 2005-10-12 04:12 pm (UTC)80's shoulder pad!Rita kicks ass, too. *fangirls Rita something rotten* That character is severely underappreciated. I want her to write bios of every member of the wizarding world, with full-on snark.
I notice Rita is sitting close to McGonagall. Should I take this moment and declare the Skeeter/McGonagall ship, sailed by exactly one person OMG SO CANON LOOK AT THE SUBTEXT NO IT WAS NOT A BROTHERLY HUG ROWLING HOW DARE YOU GIVE US A MR MCGONAGALL IN BOOK SEVEN OMG U R SO HOMOPHOBIC!!111 or will fandom disown me then?
And Harry is really looking a lot like Dracula in his robes. Haha.

Date: 2005-10-12 04:19 pm (UTC)Rita - the only independent career woman in the Potterverse. *fangirls* (I guess she's allowed to be, what with being so 'mannish' and all. *rolls eyes*) I almost hope she doesn't get explored any more, lest the inevitable 'male editor she's in total thrall and devoted to' comes to light.
But yeah, her wrap over furry thing's pretty cool, too.
I like McGonagall's hat, also, for some reason. I'm not too keen on the canon version, but Maggie Smith is such a fabulous diva, I can't quite bring myself to mock the movie version. I liked her best in GoF, anyway.
NO IT WAS NOT A BROTHERLY HUG ROWLING HOW DARE YOU GIVE US A MR MCGONAGALL IN BOOK SEVEN OMG U R SO HOMOPHOBIC!!111
LOL. Do it. I'll be your minion and defend you at f_w. 'U R ALL SO PREJUDICED!11!!'

Date: 2005-10-13 03:06 pm (UTC)Also, wtf is up with Harry's dress robes. I thought they were supposed to look good next to Ron's?
I think Gabrielle looks like a younger Tom Felton. It's the smile, I think.

That made me chuckle for about ten minutes for some reason. But I see what you mean, actually. Perhaps it's lending credence to Veela!Draco?! ;)

Date: 2005-10-13 05:56 pm (UTC)Blondes Have More Fun in GOF!
Date: 2005-10-13 08:51 pm (UTC)And Gabrielle indeed looks very ickle & cute. :)
As for Tom Felton...I have no problem with the wig. The style isn't particularly studly, glamourous or sexy, true...but it's not supposed to be. It suits his character – to my eyes he looks very much like the Draco described in the books. (Sometimes to play a role, one has to look a bit naff or uncool; Tom and Rupert seem to understand this better than those other two they work with.)
I'm happy with Tom's look here, and I'm betting he'll once again wipe the floor with his peers acting-wise in GOF. :D
Still no sign of Lucius, I see...
Re: Blondes Have More Fun in GOF!
Date: 2005-10-14 09:01 am (UTC)(Goyle = still hot, btw.)

And yeah, Miranda Richardson looks fabulous. Love her long nails and the attentive look and notebook (Rita: one of the few women in canon who's independent and career-minded. I almost hope we don't get any more exploration of her, JKR'll probably give her a male editor she idolises or something, just to keep up with the pattern.) And obviously, sassing Harry and Hermione always impresses me!
I have no problem with the wig.
I don't mind the wig either. It's a bit froofy, but it doesn't look that different from his hair in POA. And god knows the style wasn't exactly unstudied in the first two movies, either!

LOL!

:) Agreed.
Still no sign of Lucius, I see...
I really hope they have some promos of Lucius and Draco together. I know that's not the focus of Lucius' role this time like it was in CoS; and Isaacs has some fairly set ideas on their relationship that people argue over; but I love to see them interact on screen.
Re: Blondes Have More Fun in GOF!
Date: 2005-10-14 06:03 pm (UTC)Goyle continues to be quite handsome, and Crabbe has literally not changed a wit since the first movie. How does Jamie Waylett(?) do it?
They look much better than Harry or Ron, which I like because hello, they are supposed to be the rich and privileged kids.
My one criticism--again with the bad photos, could we do a little airbrushing on that spot by Tom Felton's lip? Are these things going out without anybody checking them or something? He doesn't have to look perfect but give the kid a break.
Re: Blondes Have More Fun in GOF!
Date: 2005-10-14 06:15 pm (UTC)But yeah, Goyle looks like he's got a lip sore, too.
This one's worse in terms of cover-up, though.

How does Jamie Waylett do it?
There's a withered PS promo in his attic somewhere?
Re: Blondes Have More Fun in GOF!
Date: 2005-10-14 11:40 pm (UTC)Tell me this trio would not turn heads.
Tom Felton may not be as good-looking as the Draco-image in my head...but...he projects that persona better than the other kids do their parts.
Oh to be young and ambitious and partying in the spooky beauty of the Slytherin house.
