Excerpt here.

Maybe Pottermore members can fill us on on what's in the rest of "Rita's" article?

I have to wonder what they have added to the wizarding world's water supply. Remember how wizards used to be fickle creatures, capable of going from hero-worship to deep suspicion and hatred based on a few gossip columns or rumors in the halls? No longer!

As the crowd stampeded, tents were flattened and small children mown down. Fans from all corners of the globe stormed towards the area where members of Dumbledore’s Army were rumoured to have been sighted, desperate above all else for a glimpse of the man they still call the Chosen One.

Since Harry is about to turn 34, this is roughly 16 years after the DA did its thing. That they're still famous for being the DA, and Auroring and whatever else is clearly a distant, secondary consideration, suggests that they haven't really done anything all that newsworthy lately. (I would bet on the cut being from a game of pickup Quidditch with Ron & co. or something equally boring.) Yet they're excited enough to see Harry that Rita can spin it into a stampede?

There must have been nothing happening at all in the WW for the last 16 years. I guess they really do disappear when Rowling isn't looking.

Interesting. I googled the quote and got to the same article on which I read Rita's piece the previous time, except some of it is now missing. It can still be found in some others, maybe until Rowling or Pottermore make them take parts down.

There is a bit about how Hermione (still Granger, kept her name) is now deputy head of the DMLE, how Ron worked 'in the Auror Department' (what? it used to be 'The Aurors' Office, which was part of the DMLE) for 2 years before joining George at the joke shop.

Rita speculates about why Ron and Hermione are avoiding the press and why Ron changed careers. In any case, their tent is next to the Potters'.

Neville is a popular Herbology teacher, had bee living until recently with his wife Hannah above the Leaky Cauldron (teachers can live outside Hogwarts, apparently), but now she has retrained as a healer and is applying to become Matron at Hogwarts. Luna is also around, married to Rolf (no mention of him actually being there, but probably is) their twin sons are home with grandpa, and Rita speculates why that is so.

George is wealthy, Charlie still unmarried and still wrangling dragons, Percy is Head of the Department of Magical Transportation (yay! Department Head at 38, by which age Arthur was still playing with toys in his tiny office with Perkins), Bill still scarred, still married to Fleur, Teddy Lupin and Victoire have been seen kissing all over the place.

Oh, Harry and Viktor are on friendly terms. Harry brought James and Al to meet Viktor, but no mention of Lily. Not even speculation as to her whereabouts.

Re: Lily II

I think she stayed at home to draw or read books, I'd like to think she'd inherited some real brains for a change. :)

Some traits are known to skip a generation or two. Maybe she had an ancestor with actual brains we never met.

I'm with you. My new headcanon is that Lily-Lu is hates sports, both magical and muggle. She likes reading fiction and poetry, and is quite good at drawing. In a few years, a teacher at muggle school will discover she has a real gift for music. She eventually talks her parents into letting her attend Beauxbatons because Hogwarts has no art or music program. The bonus is that she gets away from her emotionally incestuous extended family with their inexpressably tedious fondness for "pranking" her.

That's a great vision. Strangely enough, in the fanfics I'd read where the author cares to delve into extracurricular activities in Hogwarts students, almost every time there'd be classical mucic practise or even Shakespearian theater practice and performances.

In another version of my headcanon, Headmaster Snape (of course he survives! Did we ever see a body?), besides bringing discipline to that madhouse of a school, introduces mandatory classes in math, science, literature, and genuine history, along with programs in art, music, and sports that more than a couple dozen people can play--say, soccer for a team sport and tennis for individuals. Lily-Lu would have no problem going to that school.

Then I recommend you to read "Two hawks Hunting" by Snapegirl of HarryPotterFanfiction (she's Snapegirlkmf on ff dot net), it's a continuation of a Severitus AU started in "Broken Wings" and in chapter 47 a de-powered Dumbledore (he sacrificed all his magic and almost died in order to save a group of students held hostage) makes Severus his successor as Headmaster, and Snape introduces various educational reforms. That fic also introduced a very moving SS/OFC romance, and the lady only appeared in flashback so far!

the same article on which I read Rita's piece the previous time, except some of it is now missing

I have the same problem.

I remember one part Rita's comments that Harry is letting Little Teddy run wild.

Which made me think - what kind of parent do you think Harry would be?

The Dursley's showed him the child you love you spoil rotten, you make the child you hate do chores.

At Hogwarts what was he shown? Dumbledore treats the rules as a joke, lets Harry be on the Quidditch team as a first year, gives Harry a forbiden cloak so Harry can break the rules. Snape wants to punish Harry for breaking the rules, which only shows that Snape hates Harry.

Remember the time when Jo revealed which one of the kids discovered the Cloak and who got ahold of the Map?
